Vila Cha is only 30 minutes drive from Porto and offers the first of the virtually unbroken beaches running up the coast to the Minho estuary. It's still the fishing village where local life has hardly changed but the new Metro linking it to central Porto has made it a favourite for commuters and visitors too.

Beaches apart, there are local shops and restaurants in both Vila Cha and its neighbour, Mindelo and the large resorts of Vila do Conde and Povoa de Varzim are a brief drive or train ride northwards. So it's a good place to combine a quiet beach holiday with excursions to these larger seaside towns or into Porto itself.

The fishing fleet

For your accommodation we offer three properties which together sleep up to 14 people (7 bedrooms). Rosetta (beach house for 4) is literally on the beach, with the sands a few feet down a ladder from the terrace. Praia (cottage for 4) is just around the corner and Azoia (apartment for 4 or 6 with indoor pool) is a short walk away. They are available separately or at discounted rates if you book two or all three.
